Reasons why you fall out with your manager…….

Lots been discussed how to develop a rapport with your manager, but never on why and how the relation becomes sour. Some experiences from my history.

1. Manager should be a leader not a politician.

2. AdiSankara in his Advaitha philosophy call the relation between guru and shisya as Shradda, but if it breaks you lose your interest in your work and slowly you will feel that something is being missed that is productivity.

3. Most managers consider you as a threat not as a friend and its was rightly said all your colleagues are friends.

4. He is the Lord and we are supposed to bear everything and should not speak a word against him or retaliate.

Most of my managers including my HoD were good and HoD once told me “If you do a mistake do it without a proof”, still i’m figuring what i did.

Made in Bangladesh

Recently i bought a casual from Max since it was a good buy (good quality + low cost). But i came out with a confusion “How come they are selling at this low price that too here in Max”. Due to curiosity once i reached home i searched for any tags indicating its manufacturing country. My suspicions came true and it was “Made in Bangladesh”. This is not the first time and nowadays i see almost all big retailers like Big Bazaar, MAX, Lifestyle flooding their shops with cheap imports from Bangladesh.

Gone are the days where we used to raise hue and cry that we import unnecessarily from China. Now we import from our background and its fine that still have a strong trade balance in our favor. The surge is due to FTA’s which we signed with our poor neighbor. But my serious question is why the retailers are going to other countries despite having readymade garment clusters in Tirupur, Ludhiana and in many other places producing a very quality of garments. We should support our industry first and government should encourage.

If they import from Bangladesh due to its cheapness, then its high time to start plough in Indian investments for starting factories there which will be mutually beneficial to both the countries. Bangladesh also faces severe power crisis and other politico economic factors are also there to consider before investing.

Importance of Social Media

For almost all PR agencies today to showcassing their clients in spotlight in social media like Twitter,LinkedIn and Facebook has become a necessity one.

Few years back before social media entered actually entered, people would socialize in marriages, corporate events and summits and build their connections. But now its not the case with social media entering into the living rooms. Comedies centering the impact of social media like father asking his son to come for dinner through facebook has become a real one.

Once a product is lauched in the market, immediately the social media is flooded with 360 degree analysis of the product and if negatives aer more the product will doom to extinct soon. No doubt in that. If companies doesn’t manage their brands in social media it is a disaster for them and the same happened for Kingfisher during its recent fleet restructuring.

In this highly competitive environment, the BIG 4 of IT industry counts the fortune 500 companies as their crown of their achievement leaving behind the tremendous amount of untapped potential available in the domestic market. They can’t expect big deals in the tune up of 1 million dollars as the local SME and MSME don’t have big budgets for technology expenditure. Provide applications in the SaaS format and have a good marketing team to pitch for deal closure. In-Memory Analytics

One of the hottest emerging trend in BI that holds great promise for this year is In-Memory Analytics. Imagine the entire data residing in the memory of the server, queries that do not require any disk I/O. This would definitely translate into the most dramatic performance improvement that a data warehouse could ever hope for. The truth is that In-Memory Analytics is not a new concept at all. We always knew that things would run much faster in memory, but the memory costs were prohibitive and a processor could only access so much memory in a 32 bit architecture. However, things have begun to change with the advent of low cost 64 bit computing (resulting in larger addressable memory space) and declining memory prices. As a result, in-memory analytics is no longer limited to small deployments and holds a promising future for functionalities where query performance is a key measure for e.g. dashboard analytics and performance management solutions. It may eliminate the need to store pre-calculated data in the form of an OLAP cubes or aggregate tables.

New Noble laureate of Indian Origin

Its good to see that Indians or Persons of Indian Origin are awarded one of the highest awards in field of science and Technology. He was quick to denounce that Indians are always obsessed with western awards and don’t get carried away.Again the culprit is our own media. The main questions is why persons from Bengal and Tamilnadu have won more awards compared to other states in India. Are really Tamilians and Bengalis more brilliant than others?.Others in India
who have missed nobel are Surendranath Bose,Ramanujam.
